St. Mary's College of Maryland
St. Mary's College of Maryland is a nationally rated, coeducational liberal arts and sciences institution. In 1992, it was designated the state's honors college in recognition of the quality of its students, faculty, and curriculum. Students number approximately 1,900 and 99% of the faculty hold the Ph.D. or other terminal degree. In recent years the incoming class has had the highest SAT scores in Maryland's public higher-education system; and over 60% of the graduates continue on to graduate school. The College is home to the Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Less than two hours from Washington and Baltimore, the beautiful residential campus borders the St. Mary's River near the Chesapeake Bay.
